Q. What does the name mean?

A. Jessie grew up on Birch Road in Delafield, and Banyan is a very popular tree in Hawaii - one of her favorite places. It's the combination of two sentimental value, happy places.

Q. Where does your coffee and food come from?

A. Our wonderful coffee comes from the award-winning Anodyne Coffee Roasters, in Milwaukee. Our tea is from Rishi, also in Milwaukee. Sally's Sweet Shoppe, in Genesee Depot, makes our delicious bakery, and Great Harvest in Oconomowoc, makes our tasty lunch options. We also get soup from The Soup Market in Milwaukee. We're all about supporting local!

Q. How do we reserve your conference rooms?

A. Our conference rooms are free of charge, as long as you're a customer while using it. In order to make a reservation stop in or call us at 262-313-9912. The rooms are open to use if there aren't any prior reservations. We ask that reservations use the space for no more than two hours, so that it may be open to other people, as well.

Q. Do you ever host pop-up events?

A. We do not. We have nothing against these events, or the companies hosting them, but it's our belief that people do not come to coffeeshops to be solicited by other products and vendors. We hope to create an environment where everyone can be comfortable and relaxed.

Q. Are you hiring?

A. When we're looking for new people we'll announce it via social media and with signage in our shop. If you're looking to apply, you can or send a resume and your availability (or use this application) to jessie@birchandbanyancoffee.com. Our general employee job description is here.

Q. What are you involved in within the community?

A. We are actively involved in many events that happen within Hartland, including Hartland Neighborhood Night Out, the BID Trick-or-Treat, Hartland Lights, Chillin' on the Trail, the Hometown Celebration Weekend, the Sidewalk Sale, and more. We also set up at farmer's markets throughout Lake Country, and have worked with the Ice Age Trail Alliance for National Trails Day. Jessie is also a Chamber Ambassador, and a Board Member for both the Hartland Chamber of Commerce and Business Improvement District.

Q. Will you donate to my event/organization/fundraiser?

A. We try to be as involved in community organizations as possible. Please fill out this form if you'd like to request a donation.

Q. Do you have parking?

A. Yes! We have a lot behind our business (driveway east of our building, not the driveway to the west!). There's also street parking and a large public lot to the north of us.
