Hello! My name is Rachael Strenz, and I’ve been with Birch & Banyan Coffee since the very beginning! My full-time job is with a local bank working in residential lending, but I wanted a fun part-time job. I stumbled across one of the original Facebook posts announcing that the shop was coming to town, so I reached out to Jessie and the rest is history!
I was born in Central Illinois, but moved to Hartland when my identical twin and I were in 5thgrade. I’m an Arrowhead alum, but spent time afterwards in California and Tennessee before coming back to Wisconsin in 2010. I have three boys; two live with me (Deacon, 11, and Vann, 10), and one lives with his dad in Rhinelander (Keanen, 16).
We love being a part of Lake Country because it’s small, but tight knit. And it’s active – there’s always something going on. I love being able to support all these small businesses. In the summer you can find me at the Hartland Beer Garden at Nixon Park, and the Street Dance is one of my favorite events!
When I started at B&B two years ago I was just looking for something fun in my free time, but I never knew that it would become a second family. I can’t imagine not having it as a part of my life. And by the way, try an iced white chocolate mocha next time you’re in. That’s my personal favorite!
